Yeah, that sounds very plausible. Maybe as opposed to the remembering the objects by their colour or the meaning that each object may have for her personally. Interesting stuff. Didn't she prove her extreme left-brainedness using that test on the link from our website? I'm still interested to read more about the nature of the division of labour in the brain. Is it really a hemispheric thing; split down the middle? Or is it a little less straightforward?

Hello. My sister recently went on a course about learning styles. They were given a tray of objects to memorise and then they had to look at the way they remembered them. My sister learnt and then recited them (subconsciously) in alphabetical order. She reckons this is because of her extreme left brainedness. What do you think?

Hey Paul, Ann and all you guys in Brisbane. Matthew Herbert is DJing in Surfers Paradise on the 6th Feb. I strongly advise you to go because if his set is anywhere near as good as Tokyo, it's an absolute must and you'll love it. It's the 'Elsewhere' club/bar at 23 Cavill Ave,

Well, back in the good old UK of A. Nothing's really changed...APART FROM THE WEATHER IN NEW ZEALAND. Greg, can't believe you had to tell us that! Already planning to come back though when the weather will be better. We've got a good few unoccluded mountain tops still left to see. We definitely munched our way through Japan. Food was fantastic! (if anyone tells you that I ate raw horse...I'd like to be able to tell you they're lying) (Which of course they are...hmmmm...yeah) (Definitely) Such an interesting and beautiful place. How's the weather NOW in NZ? Is Linda back yet Greg? Paul - If you get a chance, you have to see Matthew Herbert DJ. Just probably THE best DJ set I've heard I reckon (with the exception of AFX of course) Saw him in a ram-packed basement club in Tokyo. Was thinking at the time just how much you would backflip if you heard it. Ultra-sharp electronic, bouncy and jazzy. Plus, Son + Benz - how are things going with you in Thailand? Haven't heard from you in a while, are things OK?

Gralison: Just thought you might be interested to know that, as of last Monday, it has not rained a single drop on Auckland. Must have suitably de-moistenated during your stay. It is now positively balmy. Nevertheless, it's still no Tokyo. I envy you guys and your ability to be somewhere other than here. Don't forget to eat the marrow of Japan. And put a vote down from me for green tea.

Yes Japan is truly amazing, I really would recommend it MOST strongly to everyone in the world. It has the most fantastic shops and it really is all neon at night, just like you see on TV!! I had the public bath experience last night and shared a moment with a Japanese artist with and exhibition on at the moment. It's a crazy place.

Hello. I've nearly finished my week of nights - only one more to go! Good to hear you've made it to Japan now, Gra - that must be amazing. Have you met Benny yet? And yes - I like green tea. And as for reality - I'm not too sure at present. I need to have some breakfast and go to bed. I'll get back to you about it.

Reality and work unfortunately go together like peas in a pod, like salt and pepper and like ebony and ivory. However, when i was in work the other day, i walked up to the nurses station and had this image that it wasn't a nurses station at all. It was a bar, with people leaning over it to order drinks. I hope that the reality of work, one day, will be to sit at the bar and drink.'last orders!' 'no, im working overtime' 'Good man! your ambitious!'

Paul - Have you heard 'Speedy J'? Try and get the album 'A Shocking Hobby'. Just found it on a iMac in the hotel and popped in on my camera memory card. It's beyond quite good. Sorry that I'm monopolizing this chat room.

Campai! A wintery welcome from Tokyo! Land of lovely green tea + superfast internet. Sorry if I put a stop to conversational flow with my last message. Good to get a taste of winter before returning to the UK at the end of this month. Kinda looking forward to getting stuck into life and work again. Next step in the adventure of existence. (Remind me that I said this in a months time.) Next question: Who likes green tea?

General question: How do you define reality? Where mental health services are said to help people who may have 'lost touch with reality', does anybody know of any writing that attempts to clarify what reality actually is and how we generate it?

Hey Neil! Have a wicked NYE too my friend! 2005's gonna be an interesting, if not a very interesting one. It's almost 2005 now in New Zealand and Al and I are KNACKERED! Just done a 7 hour walk/climb today to see a glacier. It was meant to take 5! Problem was that it was well wet and slippery and I fell into a really deep puddle. Boots and trousers filled up badly. Had to spent some time wringing my socks out. Also, they didn't mention in the description of the 'stroll' that we had to scale waterfalls. Buggers. Sense of achievement achieved though. Anyway, Happy New Year to all who have eyes and can see this message, and Happy New Year also to those who don't. Tarrah!
