A career as a GP is looking increasingly sensible....have you all seen the article in last week's BMJ careers?

Hey Adam! Happy New Year to you too! I'm sure there must be an evolutionary advantage to creative thought. I suppose that works of art are an alternate means of expressing those thoughts where the true evolutionary advantage is through problem solving. On a different note, I'm racking my brains trying to work out what to do as a 6 month job after I come back from travelling after 6 months. I'm almost certain that I want to be a psychiatrist but feel that I would like to get more general medical experience. Also, wondering about the prospect of working abroad, maybe NZ/Oz? Not sure about A+E,though it could be good to tide me over until I start a foundation year SHO post for a year. I could do Palliative Care, Psych and General Med. Hmmmm. Anybody got any juicy careers advice for me? I'll produce my life, you guys can direct it!

Happy 2004 to all at therightbrain - and the theme so far for this year is sheep.... Graham, I haven't got a clue as to why evolution has survived thus far on billion to one chances happening at surprisingly regular intervals. I just strum.

Hi Graham, thanks for posting up my sheep photo. I've been wanting to send it in for a while, but wasn't sure because it's not an 'arty' photograph- just a cute sheep. The story behind your sheep photo is very amusing. All the best for 2004!

Did Darwin ever have an explanation for creativity? Where does it come in evolutionary terms? Is it just a biproduct of creative survival-inducing ideas? What?

Hey Jon! How's things with you? How's the job going? Got a funky pad in London? Yeah, site still ticking away. Gotta have another party. My mind sometimes wanders into thinking about a new party playlist...it would be sweet. Probably a smaller, more intimate venue next time though. Take care, J.

Yeah, I share your sentiments. It's a good image. Was wondering whether it's a painting or is it produced some other way??? Would love to have some more contributions from your side of the globe!

HELLOO!! Sorry about that brief interruption to service - I'm afraid my credit card expired at the end of September and I had forgotten to renew my payments to the website hosting company... oops. But we're back online again. Normal service is resumed.

Why Pekin? Is the hill called the Pekin? Plus, have you had a digital camera since 1992??? I didn't think they existed then? (Does this message make me sound real dense?)
