The candles glow, whilst
The logs on the fire crackle,
I watch you…
Contentedly smile
With eyes full
Of love
And Christmas…
Your happiness
Now radiates
And warms the room.
Outside, the deepening winter
Offers the first few fumbling
Flurries of snow.
The wind worries
The stiffened leaves
And blusters and buffets
Against
The chimney breast.
A log slips…
Re-arranges itself
And momentarily
Spits…
Disturbing the calm
Tenderness of that
Loving moment.
The children dream as the
World now sleeps
The ground steadily hardens
Outside…as the frost
Garnishes the lawn with
Icy moonlight
We kiss…
Cuddle…
Smile…
And invite the darkness
To share our
Private moment. |
